What are the results of other projects that recharge.green is building on? What significance do ecosystem services have for biodiversity? What does the Forestry Policy 2020 look like in Switzerland? The answers to these and other questions can be found under the new “Links” and “Further Reading” headings on this website.
The Alps have great potential for the use of renewable energy. Thereby they can make a valuable contribution to mitigating climate change. This, however, means increasing pressures on nature. What could be the impact of such changes on the habitats of animals and plants? How do they affect land use and soil quality? How much renewable energy can reasonably be used?
How much energy in the Alps is currently generated from wind and hydropower, from biomass and solar sources? How much is theoretically possible, and to what extent is using renewable energies justifiable? The recharge.green project partners presented the first results in public at an international conference in Brig (CH) on 12-13 November 2013.
